Old Burford Cottage is a beautiful holiday cottage located in the village of Burford, often referred to as the gateway to the Cotswolds with an immaculate, contemporary interior and ideal for a family or group or friends.
Built in the region of 1840 to 1890 to accompany The George Inn and situated just off the historic high street, the cottage is peacefully quiet and has been fully refurbished to a very high standard.
This charming cottage was originally two cottages which the owner has lovingly converted into one generously sized two bedroom cottage.
Boasting a large open-plan living area with large sofas, a wood burning stove, fully equipped kitchen and dining table seating four guests.
Upstairs, both bedrooms have a king-size bed and there is a state of the art shower room with walk-in rainfall shower.
Burford’s famous High Street sweeps downhill towards the River Windrush, its three-arched medieval bridge and its impressive church, both sides of the street are flanked by an unbroken line of ancient houses and shops.
Popular with visitors both for its beauty and history but also for its shopping, especially antiques, and for the wide variety of places to eat, with restaurants, pubs and teashops.
Patio set seating two guests at the front of the property, there is no other garden area.
Plenty of off-street parking available.
The neighbouring village of Shipton under Wychwood is home to the excellent The Hare which features within Giles Corens top 100; and with popular Daylesford Organic also nearby, this house is well suited to those who enjoy sampling local ales and fresh, local produce; often very welcome after exploring the myriad of local walking and cycling routes.
Adjacent to the Wychwood National Nature Reserve, this area is also blessed with things to do.
The Cotswold hotspots of Stow-on-the-Wold, Bibury and Bourton-on-the-Water are all within easy striking distance.
Oxford is just over 20 miles away and closer still is Woodstock and Blenheim Palace.
