The Experience

The living area has a fireplace with a cosy wood burning stove and two over-size leather snuggler chairs.

It has a bespoke kitchen/dining/sitting area fully equipped with double oven, hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer and pod coffee maker.

The bedroom area has a super-king size, handmade Vispring bed with Egyptian cotton linen and down duvet.

The bed can be separated to two singles upon request. From the bedroom there is a generous bathroom with a bath and a large open walk-in shower.

The village pub is just a minute away from the cottage, and a five minute drive away or two mile walk sees you at Hardy’s Monument with stunning views across beautiful Dorset countryside and out to Weymouth Bay.

Nearby Iron Age Maiden Castle Hillfort offers excellent walking opportunities, and the towns of Dorchester and Weymouth are a short drive away with plenty of shops, museums, restaurants and cinemas to visit.

Location

A couple of miles south west of Dorchester, Washing Pool Barns are situated in the pretty village of Martinstown, just one minute walk from the local pub and five minutes walk to the village store and post office. The Hardy Monument, a memorial to Admiral Sir Thomas Masterman Hardy, is a popular viewpoint above the village and provides almost 360 degree views.

In nearby Abbotsbury there are a number of visitor attractions such as the Swannery and the award winning Subtropical Gardens. Abbotsbury Swannery provides the unique experience of feeding swans and in May and June admiring the newborn cygnets.

The county town of Dorchester is less than ten minutes drive away with its large selection of shops, restaurants, cafes, museums and two cinemas.

To the east is the popular seaside town of Weymouth with its Georgian seafront and 17th century harbour.
