The Experience

This charming property has been thoughtfully refurbished to offer guests a comfortable retreat that oozes of character in a peaceful setting ideally located for exploring the many local walks and villages right from the doorstep.

Step through the old oak front door into the welcoming sitting room. With exposed ceiling beams and a stone fireplace with roaring wood burner, this lovely room has been dressed with comfortable sofas, cosy soft furnishings.

Continue through to the kitchen/dining room where a polished flagstone floor lies beneath a beamed ceiling and a large inglenook fireplace houses an Aga for preparing delicious meals. Once prepared, dine at the large oak table nearby before enjoying a competitive game of pool in the cellar beyond.

A fine set of oak stairs lead up to the first floor where you will find an impressive king-size bedroom with four-poster bed and feature fireplace, a contemporary king-size bedroom, charming main bathroom with roll-top bath and useful dressing room with shower cubicle.

A further flight of stairs leads up to the attic space where a double bedroom with pitched ceilings and en-suite WC sits on one side of a landing and a spacious den with sofas and large screen sits on the other, perfect for younger guests.

Outside, the garden is a charming mix of planting, patio and natural rock. A table and chairs offers al fresco dining while a chiminea is perfect for those chilly evenings.

The cottage was beautiful and well equipped. There was a lovely cake and a bottle of fizz on arrival. The owner phoned me the night before to say if we weren't working on the Friday we could go in earlier.I haven't ever had that option before. I'd highly recommend this property I can't imagine you would be disappointed with your stay. Just book!

Cottage is stunning

Wow what an amazing stay we had everything was just perfect. The cottage is stunning and the restoration has been completed with total love and to the highest standards. The little things such as Kathryn, milk, coffee, tea, cake, hand washes etc made us feel at home straight away. The location although very rural is only a short drive to Bowness-on-Windermere is truly beautiful and would recommend the journey.

Highly recommend

Lovely characterful cottage in a peaceful location but close enough to amenities and popular walking spots. The cottage is spacious and there are three great sized bedrooms to choose from. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the property.
