The Experience

Stylish accommodation, perfect for family holidays or small group get-togethers, hidden away yet within walking distance of both Appledore and Westward Ho! with glimpses of the Taw and Torridge river estuary from the patio area

Guests enter the property via the enclosed courtyard area and are greeted by an impressive open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which is stylish in décor as well as design.

The lounge area is well-equipped with comfortable seating, as well as a Smart TV, perfect for relaxing after a long day. The kitchen is equally well fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, perfect for preparing a family meal.

When you’re ready for a good night’s sleep head to one of the two bedrooms, including a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request) and one twin room. These sit either side of the stylish and contemporary bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Outside the property, there is a good-sized, enclosed patio which is accessed via the lounge and enjoys far-reaching views across the country park towards the estuary and sea beyond. A secure storage shed is on one side which can store bikes, surfboards or golf clubs.

The patio area also has ample seating and is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee or a sundowner in the evenings.

There is allocated off-road parking for two cars.

Perfect

The cottage was absolutely perfect in terms of location, information provided by Simon and Mercy, and equipment. Warm, loads of hot water, comfortable beds, and the log burner was the perfect finishing touch. We hope to return.

Location

Appledore, famed for its shipbuilding heritage, has a wealth of pubs, shops, and art galleries. In summer, it is possible to take the ferry across the estuary to the village of Instow, with its sandy beach and yacht club.

Beach lovers will love Westward Ho! with its two-mile stretch of golden sands, perfect for swimming, surfing or just relaxing and building sandcastles.

The property enjoys a unique location, right on the Northam Burrows with beautiful walks to both Westward Ho! or Appledore and extensive walks ideal for dog walking.
