The Georgian Bakery

The Georgian Bakery

This Grade II-listed Georgian townhouse situated across from one of Bath’s most beautiful squares once housed a bakery in the basement. It’s five minutes from the city centre, and fifteen from the famous Roman baths – you couldn’t be better placed for exploring. The local area is rife with leafy parks, local shops, cosy pubs, and delicious eateries and delis to discover. There’s even a public golf course a few minutes away when you want to hit the links. Though the interior of this home has been recently upgraded, many of the traditional features still stand, including sleek marble fireplaces and ornate crown moulding. Relax in the lounge on the plush red sofas, with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in lots of natural light, it’s a cosy spot to unwind with a book, and the kitchen is nicely stocked if you want to rustle up a meal. Both bathrooms feature luxurious soaker tubs – the perfect respite after a long day on your feet – and the east-facing patio out back is a sweet spot to catch the sun as you sip on your revitalising morning cup of tea.

Historic Gem

With a fantastic address on Beau Street, just steps away from the Thermae Spa and Roman Baths, you’ll be immersed in the rich culture of this historic city. This apartment is housed in a Grade II listed Georgian period building and is accessed via a steep and winding 17th-century staircase (so maybe pack light). Inside, this home has been thoughtfully renovated, blending period details with modern comforts. We love the views over the city’s rooftops and the trees beyond. This apartment is ideal for leisure or business travellers alike.

Elizabeth & Darcy

With the prestigious Queen Square in one direction and bustling Milsom Street in the other, the location of this dog-friendly apartment is spot on. A perfect bolthole for couples or solo travellers, the small but well-equipped kitchenette and dining area has everything you need for cosy nights in. Although with quirky cafes, traditional pubs and buzzy restaurants just footsteps from your door, you may decide to eat out instead. Need space for an extra guest? There’s a sofa bed for one in the lounge – perfect for two friends who’d rather not share beds or a little one.

The Magic Number

The Magic Number

If you’re travelling as a big group — whether a gaggle of friends or several families together — most properties catering to larger numbers still only tend to have one kitchen and living room. This home on the outskirts of Bath offers much more versatility, as it’s actually three apartments in the same period Bath Stone building, all booked as a package. As a result, each has the amenities you would expect to find in a self-contained flat — living room, bathrooms and kitchens — as well as a few welcome extras, such as two private patios and sleeping quarters geared towards children. This unique setup allows for added privacy and more communal spaces, too. However, when you all want to join up as a group again, there’s plenty to do in the local area together. Behind the house, the semi-rural Perrymead neighbourhood features lots of sights, including Prior Park Landscape Garden reached in half an hour of foot and the six-mile circular National Trust Bath Skyline route. The city itself is only a twenty-minute walk away, too.

The Cook’s Alcoves

The Cook’s Alcoves

When you first enter this large terraced apartment in central Bath, you might notice something a little strange about its layout. It served as a kitchen in Georgian times, and the original alcoves remain, adding a touch of history to the newly renovated living room and kitchen. Not only that, but the vaults under the street have been incorporated into the apartment, with the arched ceilings lending character to the rooms downstairs. There’s plenty of space for everyone to relax with a meal or a film in the open-plan living area, but if you’d rather do your own thing there’s also a snug in the vaults where you can put your feet up and watch a film. When the weather’s on your side, take a stroll through Green Park just outside and return for an alfresco dinner in the back garden. If you’re visiting during chillier months, the added bonus of underfloor heating beneath the travertine tiles and wooden floors means no cold feet when you wake in the mornings.

Old King Elegance

Old King Elegance

There’s room for all fourteen of you to pile into this handsome Georgian townhouse set along Old King Street in the city’s heart. Spanning over five floors united by sophisticated interiors, the views of Bath’s rooftops and Queen’s Square only get better the higher you go. We love the mix of old and new here – think elegant drawing room with period features aplenty, alongside a sociable, state-of-the-kitchen that’s bang up to date. It’s worth noting that the two more generously sized bedrooms sleep up to four guests. But there are two cosy double bedrooms for anyone after a little more privacy.
