Built in 1795, this home was converted from a former brew house to supply beer to the main residence. The open plan kitchen, dining and living space is on the upper floor and has high ceilings and exposed oak beams, while the bedrooms and bathroom are on the lower floors, so this place may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. When you feel like exploring, Bath city centre is a twenty-minute walk or a short drive away.

Georgian View

Georgian View

Classy. That’s the word that springs to mind when we think of this recently refurbished apartment on Milsom Street in Bath. As soon as you walk through the elegant gated entrance with carved granite and mosaic tiling, you know you’re in for a treat. The home is immaculately clean, polished and designed to a high standard. A raft of celebrity portraits taken by the owner lines the walls – a wonderful personal touch. Select a bottle from the wine cooler and relax in the spacious living room, which has a sense of occasion with its Charles Eames leather lounge chair and velvet sofa. This light, west-facing room has two large original sash windows with views over the courtyard and chimney pots. We were surprised by how peaceful this place is inside, considering it’s located on one of Bath’s main shopping streets. It really is an excellent base for exploring the city’s centre and sights. There are lots of luxury and high-end boutiques, as well as restaurants and bars right on your doorstep, where you can enjoy a cocktail or relish a delicious lunch (The Botanist and Ivy Brasserie are opposite). For a day of pampering, Thermae Bath Spa is a five-minute walk, or explore Bath’s jaw-dropping UNESCO World Heritage architecture, such as the Royal Crescent, a ten-minute stroll away. A great find – it’s no wonder this home has impeccable reviews.

Bath Bohemia

Bath Bohemia

Located in the residential area of Camden, this home sets you up for a restful stay while still being well-connected to Central Bath. It’s a thirty-minute walk or twelve-minute drive into the city from here, and while there’s no parking at the home, you’ll find free street parking nearby and plenty of direct bus routes. Inside, the style is a little bohemian and perhaps too bold for some. However, with a comfortable living room and a practical kitchen that’s fully equipped for preparing homemade meals, it’ll do nicely. It also serves well for those needing to work remotely with a laptop-friendly dining table. And when the British summer comes around, the private garden is a highlight.

Sitting high above the River Avon, there are hiking and cycle trails straight from the door while the historic sights of Bath are just five miles away. Back at home, you can enjoy barbecue meals in the garden and spend cosy evenings relaxing by the wood-burning stove. You can also enjoy access to a shared tennis court during your stay.

Behind the Bright Red door

Behind the Bright Red door

Set in the heart of Bath, this home’s address is fabulous. It’s a short walk to The Royal Crescent, Victoria Park and The Roman Baths, as well as the shopping areas of Milsom Street, Southgate and the Artisan Quarter. Of course, there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby to indulge in too. Housed in a typical honey-hued stone building – the interiors are traditional, fitting in with the façade. Unusually, the breakfast bar is just outside the kitchen on the landing area, but there is a more formal dining table in the living room. Oh, and this place has that oh so rare parking with its private garage (better suited to smaller cars.)
